Product Overview
A mallet finger is an injury to the thin tendon that straightens the end (distal phalange) joint of a finger or thumb. It is also known as a frog finger, dropped finger, dolphin finger or an extensor tendon injury. This this injury can happen to anyone when a ball or other object hits the tip of a finger or thumb and forces it to bend further than it can go resulting in the inability to straighten the tip of your finger or thumb on your own. Our frog finger splint is designed to help stabilize, immobilize and protect the end of your finger (distal phalange). Mallet finger injuries that are not treated typically result in stiffness and deformity of the injured fingertip and the majority of mallet finger injuries can be treated without surgery. To restore function to the finger, the splint must be worn full time for 8 weeks. Easy to apply, simply bend open the curved bar, insert finger and reshape to fit. EVA foam lined for comfort.
